Maserati’s year-long celebration of its centenary has yielded many announcements, as well as afforded people the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of these Italian machines. The company has shattered sales records of its previous 100 years of manufacturing, introduced an all-new entry level sedan, and released prototypes of two innovative models to hit showroom floors in the years to come. It has, indeed, been a very lucrative and exciting few months for Maserati.
Most recently, the company put its gorgeous models on display in the nation of “Marianne.” The grounds of Domaine de Chantilly – located between Calais and Paris – in Chantilly, France, hosted the inaugural Chantilly Arts and Elegance Concours d’Elegance 2014. It returned as a new iteration of the organized Concours events dating back to the 1920s, and it has become a major part of the classic car conversation across the globe.
Richard Mille, an honored timepiece manufacturer, sponsors the event, which consists of three judged events: Concours d’Etat for classic cars, Concours d’Elegance for modern cars, and a competition among invited car clubs that win based upon the criteria of presentation, diversity, and originality of their models.
The Trident marquee attended as a guest of honor to celebrate the finest designs in a variety of artistic outlets – a testament to the appreciation of the tasteful and daring Maserati lineup.
Some of the rich lineage Maserati boasts lined up for attendees’ admiration, including both rare and modern models: 1956 Maserati A6 G Zagato and a Maserati A6 GCS for the former; a Maserati MC12, Maserati GranCabrio MC Stradale, and a Maserati Ghibli for the latter. If you have not yet enjoyed climbing behind the wheel of the all-new Ghibli, here is a link to our test-drive review of it. You may also take a peek at the MC12 in our article posted here.
As 2014 quickly winds down, other events remain on Maserati’s schedule. The year’s events will culminate in an elegant celebration that will truly capture the essence of 100 years of excellence. We at Maserati of Raleigh – your premier Maserati dealer for Cary, Durham, Raleigh and beyond – will be vigilant in bringing you all of the latest news from the historic peninsula.
