August 14th – 17th, 2014, the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, will be home to a major jubilee for classic car enthusiasts across the globe.
Maserati will be the guest of honor at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion as this event commemorates the historic centenary of the iconic Italian luxury sports car brand. Four days of on-track racing, car auctions, shows, rallies, and the premier of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will captivate visitors of all ages. A total of 550 cars, historically- and period-correct, will compete in fifteen different race groups, springing to life a proverbial museum of automotive excellence.
The event also marks the 60th anniversary of the Maserati 250F, a vehicle that debuted in the 1954 Formula One season. The Italian automaker amassed a series of wins that includes two Indianapolis 500 races, nine wins in the Formula One, and a 1957 F1 World Championship.
At 100 years of age, Maserati boasts all-time record sales, state-of-the-art facilities, and two brand new sport-sedans. One of the new sedans is the focal point of the centenary celebrations: the new Ghibli. The Ghibli makes the luxury and elegance of Maserati accessible to a larger audience with a starting price below $70,000.
