Maserati to Sponsor 2014 U.S. Open Polo Championship

With the elegance and refinement of high-goal polo, it comes as no surprise that Maserati decided to sponsor the U.S. Open Polo Championship for the second year in a row. The Italian automaker, for more than a century, has built a stellar reputation for luxury and performance – the same keystones that make polo such a revered sport. This championship marks the end of the International Polo Club’s 11th season, and it will be played on March 30th, April 6th, April 13th, and April 20th.

On display throughout the championship rounds, spectators can see a full line of models with the Trident marque. The Quattroporte GTS, a full-size sport sedan, will be the focal point for the Italian automaker. The Ghibli and Gran Turismo will also be represented to garner some extra appeal.

Just as Maserati has a rich history, the U.S. Open Polo Championship dates back to 1904 where it was first played at Meadowbrook Polo Club in Old Westbury, New York. What a perfect pairing for this prolific event as two organizations with such extensive histories come together in one place.

Peter Grady, president and chief executive of Maserati North America, commented that “Polo awes with its combination of beauty, power, and precision. The connection with our core values of inspired design, passion, performance, and sophistication is an ideal match. We are proud to bring Maserati back to IPC for a second year.”

We can leave the polo horses on the greens because the horses under the hood are what we seek. More than 500 horsepower gets churned out by this massive motor, and its all-wheel drive system provides superior capability to performance and handling. This is the pinnacle of automotives.
