The United Nations passed a resolution in 2007 to establish April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day. The resolution was passed with the unanimous support of all member nations. Autism Speaks, an internationally recognized organization, began Light It Up Blue to give WAAD a distinctly visible character. Thousands of monuments and landmarks participate each year, and Maserati is proud to join in this tradition, honoring the many families and individuals who are affected by autism.
